See how the magic of monochrome has transformed this outdated bathroom...
The original dated room was once a poky peach bathroom, which had very little storage and light.
The owner’s wishlist was to have a visually strong design with art deco aspects and most importantly a black and white colour scheme. And Tah-dah – the finished look is amazing!
Simple yet stunning, monochrome is super smart and timeless. Wall to ceiling tiling is the key to this look. By thinking outside the box, tiles have been laid vertically rather than horizontally; the results are striking and the effect adds the illusion of height in the room.
Classic fittings helps keep the look traditional and fits with art deco style. Little extras like the industrial wall light suit the look and adds to the character. Strong walls need a calm floor so a soft grey marble is used to harmonise and balance the design.
Lack of storage was a huge issue in this small bathroom. The solution was to build a false stud wall that holds two recessed cupboards hidden behind extra large mirrors. This keeps the look streamlined and bounces plenty of light around the room.
Monochrome is a staple trend so finding black and white bathroom accessories was easy.
