This living room marries modern lines with cosy opulence. Laura wanted the shell of the room to have a contemporary vibe, so she lowered the ceiling to hide the old rosette and to allow for spotlights. The shell is filled with colourful accents and eclectic accessories.

A wall was knocked down to create a large open-plan living/dining room, that’s perfect for the kids to do their homework, as well as for entertaining. White walls allow the statement furniture pieces and Morroccan-inspired accessories to take centre stage. A large black chandelier is a great way of defining the dining area in an open-plan space.
Cleverly positioned furniture pieces and lighting gives this, once gloomy, living room shelving area an intimate, loungey feel. Mirrors are used behind the shelves to create the illusion of depth, and rich-brown walls accentuate the muted light. The mood is lifted with jewel-coloured accessories and glassware. Mix-and-match photo frames to create an eye-catching photo gallery along the shelf.
Not having the luxury of a spare room, Laura used the hallway to its maximum potential, and turned it into a home office area. Light pours into the space from the window, so it’s ideal for working. Brick walls have been replaced by glass blocks to let light into the living room beyond.
White glossy wall tiles and stainless-steel units create an industrial chic look in this kitchen, while ample storage means it remains a practical, working kitchen – perfect for a self-confessed domestic goddess. Kitchen utensils are kept out of the way on hanging racks, while large items of cookware are stored on high shelves. The island unit creates an open feel, allowing the chef to chat to guests in the dining room.
Laura wanted the bedroom to be a reflective space, so kept the walls white to create a minimalist air. A classic French-style bed adds a touch of boudoir glamour and is teamed with crisp white bedlinen. A large chandelier glistens overhead providing relaxing shimmer and sparkle to the scheme.
The house is filled with quirky finishing touches like this hand door knob. Sections of the wall between the hallway and the living room have been replaced with glass bricks to allow the limited light to flow better. It helps to illuminate the little office and allows dark paint to be used without the space looking too gloomy.
This luxurious ensuite has oodles of glamour mixed with elegant hotel chic. A freestanding basin stands on top of an Oriental-style alterpiece alond with her cosmetics. The marble splashback complements the stone flooring.
The ornate feet of this roll-top bath gives the space a sense of calming elegance, especially when teamed with the stone flooring. White walls keep the scheme looking fresh, while an array of photos and pictures, in a selection of different frames, adds a homely, personal touch.
