Celebrated brands bringing out exciting new products is something that Livingetc is always keen to shout about, so we were struck by the news that UK outlet Nest is to stock furniture from Swedish manufacturer Gärsnäs.

Although well-established in its native land, this is the first time that the Scandi stalwart has been available over here.

For chic, easy living, we've picked out the Emma armchair by Fredrik Färg and Emma Margo Blanche. Upholstered in luxe Kvadrat Divina fabric, it's available in either Grey or this stylish Petrol. Priced at £1,830, the Emma is a fabulous fresh take on traditional button-back designs. The piece looks equally cool in black Elmosoft leather too, £2,310.

Those who prefer a more offbeat approach may like this My Granddaughters Cabinet by Lisa Hilland. An heirloom of the future, the birch, oak and cherry wood storage unit is finished off with cuffs made in reindeer leather. 'A decorative detail added,' Lisa Hilland explains, ‘so that my little girl, crawling on the floor, would also have something nice to look at'.

Don't be floored by the price, though. At £12,000, we think it's worth every penny.
