£1m Grand Designs house up for sale – and it’s completely round!

This unsual and downright different home - which was once featured on Grand Designs - has gone on the market for a whopping £1m

The four-bedroom new-build property, which featured on the Channel 4 property show, has a lengthy 58ft living area wrapped around a circular courtyard that includes decking and a hot tub.

It was built by Peter Berkin and his wife Chard, who both appeared on TV property show Grand Designs.

They spent £400,000 building the property, which was showcased on the programme in 2014.

‘It is almost as though a giant wooden spaceship has landed on top of Stonehenge and interlocked with it. It is beautiful. I always thought that the building was like a big embrace. It is very dynamic,’ says the programme’s presenter Kevin McCloud.

Not your usual two-up two-down. This striking home is a departure from regular new builds, but only upon viewing this remarkable home you can see that it is a comfortable and versatile contemporary living space.

Blending well into the landscape and clad in Siberian Larch under a planted roof, this intriguing round house features 4 bedrooms (including a master suite with garden access and 3 further en-suite bedrooms including the family bathroom) and a large multi aspect reception room/kitchen featuring polished concrete flooring and full height windows.

Other features include underfloor heating throughout, a large separate utility room and an attached garage with its own cloakroom.

If you fancy a circular property that can fit more knights than the round table – and have £1m to spare? Don’t waste another moment. View the home here at Hamptons.
