We love an organised home and what better way to plan and sort family affairs than with this smart organiser, creatively made combining an upcycled picture frame and handy pegboard. It's lovely to look at and serves a practical purpose too, with deep pockets and plenty of space to clip invitations, appointment cards and must-keep paperwork. Country Homes & Interiors shows you how to create it in 3 easy steps...

To make, you will need:

  • Pegboard (ours was £40, Block)
  • Old frame to fit the pegboard
  • Fabric (we used a selection from Cabbages & Roses)
  • Furniture paint
  • Twine
  • Pegs Scissors
  • Glue gun

1 Give the pegboard and frame two coats of paint and leave to dry.

2 To make the pockets, cut out two pieces of fabric: one about two-thirds and the other one-third of the height of the board by the width plus 10cm. Fold the pieces in half lengthways and lay one on top of the other with folds at the top (see picture for reference).

3 Sandwich the pockets together between the board and frame, then stick together using a glue gun, to finish.

As well as being oh-so-useful, your organiser can also make for a stylish wall feature. Pin a length of string across your board and invest in some pretty pegs (ours were £10 for 10, Block). Choose beautiful stationery for reminders and notes, and pin up your favorite floral and fabric finds, too.
