Fancy living like a movie star? This four-bed house in the quaint Cornish village of Angarrack, which used to belong to Kate Winslet, could be yours for a cool £400,000

After cashing in her earnings from arguably one of the most famous films ever made, Titanic, Kate headed straight to the estate agent and purchased this modest four-bedroom home in Cornwall named The Pole House.

Snapping up the property for just £200,000 in 1998 before selling it in 2001 for a £50,000 profit, the house has come on a lot since Winslet's day.

The pretty Cornish bolthole is currently on the market with The Modern House.

Designed by acclaimed architect Barry Briscoe in a Japanese style, the wooden home occupies three floors with a grand, multi-level living space on the ground floor.

The double-height room and triangular windows allow light to stream in over the open-plan kitchen and living area.

Two bedrooms occupy space downstairs whilst the master is situated upstairs. A generous en-suite and walk in wardrobe served Kate well during her three years here.

A decked terrace wraps around the house in a fashion that is uncanny of Japanese tea houses and beyond that a bridge guides you down to the landscaped gardens that are set in a paddock of trees.

Sat just minutes from the beach and the sleepy village of Angarrack, this pad would make a great family home or holiday abode, as it served Winslet.
