Each fortnight we show you how to bring the hottest catwalk trends into your own home - this week, we've been battling it out on the FROWs to bring you our interpretation of London Fashion Week florals
Model of the moment, Cara Delevigne is hot property right now.
The 20-year-old aristocrat comes from one of London’s best-connected families, is BFF’s with Rita Ora, parties with Rhi Rhi (that’s Rhianna to you and me) and has already notched up a romance with Harry Styles of One Direction fame.
So she was the perfect choice to model the oversized, colourful and downright crazy knitted collection for Sister by Sibling at London Fashion Week.
Despite the fact that Cara apprears to have forgotten her
skirt in this photo (how much do we sound like our parents?!) we love
this zingy floral sweater and bobble hat combo. So much so that we’ve
taken it as inspiration for this week’s catwalk to couch.
1 Inspired by the retro crochet appeal of Cara’s outfit, we were thrilled to discover this crochet footstool by Very.co.uk. Ok, so it won’t magic Harry Styles into your life, but it should add a shot of London cool to your home. Corsage Pouffe, £89, Very.co.uk
2 And if you want to go the whole hog, why not crochet your lampshade too. If that’s a bit too granny chic for you (although we hear it’s making a comeback!), choose a modern shade in a zingy neon bright (this one also comes in bright yellow) to bring it up to date. Cotton hanging lamp, £239, Out There Interiors.
3 Update your walls with a bold colour-clash print like this dreamy poppy field canvas and you’ll instantly be transported to the long, hazy days of summer; whatever the weather outside. Poppy field outdoor wall art £30, Woolworths.co.uk.
4 Finally, we couldn’t forget the humble cushion. Officially the quickest way to update a room; scatter a generous sprinkling of these retro-inspired floral beauties over your sofa or bed for a colourful, cheerful look. Cara would be proud. Flower cushion, £70, Great British Designs.
