Pack a punch with our colourful painted cabinet idea

Have a go at our bathroom storage solution.

Give a tired-looking cabinet a new lease of life by transforming it into a stylish piece with upcycling. Bring it up to date by lining it with a piece of funky wallpaper, and paint the wooden frame a bright, co-ordinating colour.

You will need:
Glass cabinet, £15, junk shop
Sandpaper
Damp cloth Masking tape
Ronseal One Coat White Primer & Undercoat, £4.98 for 250ml, B&Q Paintbrush Ronseal One Coat Red Rose gloss cupboard paint, £18.98 for 750ml, B&Q
Colours Cocktail wallpaper, £12.98 per roll, B&Q
Scissors, PVA glue

Step one
Remove the shelves and lightly sand the sides, top, door frame and legs of the cabinet. Wipe clean and mask off the glass panels. Prime the wood and leave to dry.

Step two
Paint the wood with red gloss and leave until completely dry. Carefully measure and cut a piece of wallpaper to fit inside the backing board of the cabinet.

Step three
Apply PVA glue to the back of the cabinet and stick the wallpaper in place. Smooth out any air bubbles and leave to dry before replacing the glass shelves.
