LOVE IT The trend for 'Victoriana' has been around for a while now; we've seen the return to popularity of Chesterfields, the botanicala trend, insect drawings on fabrics and ceramics, and museum-style glass domes for displaying. This latest twist creates a design clash between old and new for a look that's not slavishly copying the past, but edgily reinventing it.

USE IT Absolutely made for Victorian or Edwardian period properties- especially if they still have some of their original features-- this striking look will encourage indolence in a living room and conversation in a dining area. It's also contemporary enough to carry through to a modern glass extension.

DO IT YOUR WAY If you love glamour, this look works beautifully with metallics and damasks for a dramatic scheme. Or, try it with distressed, painted vintage furniture for a more easy-going, shabby-chic spin.

Dramatic Florals. Go for enigmatic glamour with lush blooms in overipe hues.
