Bonza! Thor star Chris Hemsworth buys sea-view Malibu home from fellow Aussie actor Paul 'Crocodile Dundee' Hogan

They've both portrayed heroes in their respective film careers and now Chris Hemsworth and Paul Hogan have a rather lovely Malibu home in common as well...

While his brother Liam has been dealing with the fallout over his break up with fiance Miley Cyrus in the wake of that twerking incident (now there's a phrase I never thought I'd write at Housetohome), Hollywood hunk Chris Hemsworth has been busy snapping up the home of fellow Aussie Paul Hogan.

Crocodile Dundee star Paul only bought the Malibu mansion with his wife Linda Kozlowski in 2012 for $3.8 million but, following an extensive refurbishment, has sold it to Thor star Chris and his wife Elsa Pataky for a tidy profit at $4.8 million.

It's easy to see why Chris and Elsa have fallen in love with the 6,000 sq ft property.

Originally built in 1992, it features white oak floors and full-length windows throughout and, with five bedrooms, there's ample space to house their growing brood following the birth of daughter India Rose last year.

As well as five bathrooms the stunning property also has a library, professional standard kitchen and a separate guest house - perfect should younger brother Liam fancy popping over to introduce his rumoured new squeeze, Mexican actress Eliza Gonzalez.

A large verandah also provides breathtaking views over nearby Malibu beach, which should be a hit with the former Home and Away star and surfing fan Chris.

The 30-year-old actor has been busy of late filming the second instalment of Thor with co-star Natalie Portman, as well as Formula One biopic Rush in which he plays former sporting champion James Hunt.

Chris should be able to enjoy some privacy at his new home, though. Set in one acre of land, the front of the property is lined with tall hedges that should keep out the prying lenses of the paparazzi.
