Bring the outside in with exciting ideas to steal from this cool and colourful seaside home
1 Use garden shades in the living room
‘I worked with the vibrant greens and shades of heather and lavender that flourish in the garden in summer, and ushered them into this space,’ says the owner. Even if you don’t have the advantage of colourful garden for inspiration you can bring the outside in with verdant greens, and shades of blue that reflect the sea and sky.
2 Create a sunny corner
I created an interesting nook at the end of this corridor,’ says the owner. ‘I love odd juxtapositions of things I’ve found on my travels through the years.’
Beach-inspired colours and items like the surf board are uplifting whatever the weather.
3 Reflect the elements in the kitchen
Eglomise mirror glass adds texture to the kitchen’s sleek, monochrome base notes, and reflects the flora outside. Use the same idea of mirror in the kitchen to reflect indoor plants and flowers to give a sunny glow.
4 Make the hall a happy place
‘The chain-mail curtain was already here, but we kept it for its interesting texture,’ says the owner, who added lush weaves and colours to define this space that leads onto the garden. A ceramic leopard lifts the mood and makes visitors smile.
5 Be bold in the bedroom

6 Inject a fun element
The owners utilised a space that was previously an undefined corridor and turned it into a games room. ‘I wanted to inject some fun and brilliance,’ says the owner. Now a dead space has become a favourite place to play.
