Buy a slice of Hollywood history

The former home of Hollywood's Oliver Reed is on the market - for a whopping £4,950,000.

The sprawling Surrey mansion in Dorking boasts six bedrooms, an indoor pool, not one but TWO lakes and detached outbuildings for additional accommodation.

No doubt the setting for some seriously boozy nights when Women in Love star Reed was resident, the property has changed hands several times in recent years - but didn't fall of the celeb radar entirely after the main man sold up. Rather bizarrely, it was also home to comedian Jim Davidson, who owned the property until 2006.

The property in leafy Dorking is right on the commuter belt into London, where the average property price is valued at £559,915.

However, despite its popular location, the home is taking its time to sell. The property has been discounted by 17.5% since it was first listed in August 2015, when it was put on the market for £6,000,000.

So, what do you get for your dollar?

The Grade II listed property is believed to date from the 16th century, and is 16,000 square ft.

According to the listing on Zoopla, the main house ‘combines restored period features, such as notable oak timberwork, open fires, and some magnificent flagstone flooring, with the modern comforts of underfloor heating, wiring for zoned security, lighting, thermostatic heating and an indoor swimming pool.'

Detached from the house is an office suite with triple garage and bedroom annexe above.

Anything else, we hear you cry? The grounds also boast two ornamental lakes, beautifully landscaped gardens, a stable yard and a sand school - all packaged up in 11 acres.
