Want to stay ahead of the interiors curve this season? Check out our awesome round-up of the top 9 trends for spring 2015.

Stuck in an interiors rut? Here are nine on-trend ways to style it out this spring.

1. Cast a steely gaze

The metallic trend is nothing new, but brands such as French Connection (above) have given it a little rough and tumble for a more utilitarian vibe. Keep it minimalist with exposed bricks and bare wood, or warm it up with soft furnishings in neutral tones.

2. Escape to the contemporary country

If farmhouse makes you think of a tumbledown tavern, then think again. This season, give the traditional look a wash of modernity with light linens, steely tones and utility-style enamelware. Check out H&M (above) for renegade rustic charm.

3. “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.”

We get your point, Meryl, so how about botanicals instead? For a
feistier take on flowers, try this modern take on a classic spring
trend. Tread lightly with framed ferns, or be bold and choose furniture
adorned in leafy prints, for a fresh, uplifting scheme without the
frills. Word on the street is that forest green is the hottest colour
for spring, so work it into your scheme in any way you can. Try Marks &
Spencer (above) for a striking twists of black and lime.

4. Take a soft approach to structure

From stylish room dividers to oversized lanterns, let the colonial-inspired rattan trend weave its way into your heart. Habitat (above) leads the way with its beautiful but functional designs.

5. Have fun with fabrics

Take a trip to the wild west with ikat prints in warm neutrals, searing scarlet and cool blue. Feeling crafty? Choose your own fabrics, like these from John Lewis (above) and furnish your scheme with ethnic-inspired accessories.

6. Fall for folksy charm

The cutesy cousin of ikat, the folk trend is a warmer way to play
with prints this season. Try West Elm, Toast and the Folkthread range
from Anthropologie (above) for colourful pieces with a touch of
bohemia.

7. Master modern monochrome

For pared-back elegance, switch up a traditional black-and-white scheme. With more warmth than the ubiquitous Scandi trend, this sophisticted monochrome look is softened with earthy tones, fabrics and textures. Try brands such as Next (above) or House of Fraser for inspiration.

8. Get back to nature

Look out for raw textures, such as marble and cool contrete, warmed up with notes of wood and terracotta for an understated palette inspired by the earth’s elements. Try House of Fraser (above) for soft charcoal hues and waves of grey.

9. Escape to the tropics

Craving colour? Take joy in the tropical trend. Featuring flamingos, florals, and those irrepressible pineapples, opt for quick-fix brights that pack plenty of punch. Look out for Sainsbury’s, the Copa set from Made.com, and Palm Springs from George (above) for ideas.
