Sleeptember: Everything you need to know about bed month

September is renamed Sleeptember as we celebrate a jolly good night’s kip

Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the most important things to master. Sleep affects how we think, feel and function – and can impact every part of our lives.

So, this September, we are taking action and celebrating ‘Sleeptember’
– a month long initiative from The Sleep Council which highlights the importance of slumber.

Sleeptember is a much-need awareness campaign about our sleep habits and sleep problems.

According to The Sleep Council, the majority of Britons
(70%) now sleep for seven hours or less per night, with more than a quarter of us (27%) experiencing poor quality sleep on a regular basis.

The number of Britons getting just five-to-six hours per night has risen dramatically in the past three years – more than a third of us get by on that amount of sleep compared to 27% in 2010.

You can get the most out of Sleeptember with our dedicated sleep advice. Find out how to choose the perfect mattress, and how to match your mattress to your usual sleeping position.

We also have all the information and advice you need if you can’t sleep and need help nodding off – from soothing bedroom colour schemes to the best bedroom lighting.

But it’s not all so serious, sleep fans. We’ve also got lots of fun bedroom decorating ideas for your boudoir.

Shabby chic bedrooms never go out of style, so find out how to create a master bedroom on this beautiful style with our dedicated guide.

Vintage is the trend of the moment, so don’t miss out on making this trend work with our vintage bedroom ideas.

If that isn’t the look for you, take a peek at our pick of the best bedroom wallpaper ideas, alongside our designer tips for small bedroom ideas if your boudoir isn’t the biggest space in your home.

Here’s to a good night’s sleep!
