Carbon-neutral kit homes

Stylish, affordable and as green as they get, this flat-pack house could be the future for eco-friendly self builders

Self-build specialists Potton have come up with the Lighthouse, a contemporary styled timber framed self-build home that’s packed with eco-friendly features and low energy solutions.

The homes are expected to cost as little as £30 per year to run thanks to the use of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) that give unrivalled levels of insulation, plus the biomass boiler that uses woodchip and waste wood for fuel instead of gas, and solar panels for both electricity and hot water.
