Ikea recalls child’s Bat Cape costume over safety fears – here’s everything you need to know

Ikea has recalled the LATTJO bat cape - here are the full instructions if you have one at home

Ikea has recalled a child’s bat cape costume over strangulation fears.

The Swedish superstore is advising customers who have a LATTJO Bat Cape to immediately stop children using it and take it back into any Ikea store for a full refund.

The recall has been put in place after reports of three children receiving marks and stratches from the costume.

Ikea has confirmed that although the injuries suffered did not require medical attention, there could be a risk of strangulation or neck injuries so has put the recall in place as a precautionary measure.

The Bat Cape has been on sale in all Ikea markets except Russia and Indonesia since November 2015.

Here are the full recall instructions from Ikea:

The LATTJO bat cape can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund.

Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
