A mix of solid maple and hand-painted cabinetry, finished with steel bar handles, has created a smart yet classic feel in this kitchen by Cloisters Design. For a similar cabinetry shade, try Dulux‘s Blue Chalk.

Maple kitchen

Open-plan dining area
To complement the cabinetry, the homeowners bought a wooden table and chairs. The couple realised that the travertine flooring they wanted would not be hardwearing enough, so they chose Tuscany Gold ceramic tiles.

Hob
The Siemens hob has been positioned so that the couple can enjoy the view of the garden while cooking. This induction model is extra wide and framed by stainless steel.

Sliding drawers
The internal sliding drawers in the peninsula are hidden behind a door and offer handy storage for everyday kitchen items such as plates and cereal bowls.

Wine rack
Rather than making a feature of an open wine rack, the homeowners opted for a sleeker look and fitted purpose-built shelves inside the peninsula behind a cupboard door. This also has the advantage of keeping the bottles out of the daylight to preserve the wine's bouquet.

Dishwasher
The Siemens dishwasher has been semi-integrated to maintain the clean lines of the cabinetry, and has been installed close to the sink for convenience.

Tall units
The kitchen design incorporates a large floor-to-ceiling walk-in pantry. The two built-in Siemens ovens and warming drawer are housed together in a tower for ease of access when cooking.
