  • As part of this year's London Design Festival, the UK's largest arts centre plays host to top interior design brands

Since the Southbank Centre is just a short stroll from Livingetc‘s offices, when we heard that the shops in the arts complex were taking part in this year’s London Design Festival, we immediately made plans to stake out some of the goodies on offer.

During the duration of the Festival (which runs from 13 to 30 September), the Southbank Centre’s flagship design store on Festival Terrace is handing over its window to Italian furniture stalwart Seletti, which will be showcasing a selection of its classic models, as well as some new designs.

Meanwhile, over at the Royal Festival Hall, British firm Mathmos is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Lava lamp.

Always on the lookout for new products, Livingetc was also drawn to a special event – Design Nation Presents – which takes over the Festival Terrace shop at the end of September.

Here, you’ll find contemporary craft collections made in the UK using traditional techniques… and the results are simply stunning.

We’ve pulled out three highlights for you to enjoy: Gillies Jones Glass‘s elegant bowls would make a sparkling addition to any interior and this Landscape Study Bowl, £3,500, is worth every penny.

For more modest budgets, Carly Dodsley‘s ceramic Fish Jug is available at an eminently affordable £14, while Emma Cowlan‘s captivating Girls Plate (21cm) costs just £12.

Whatever your taste, we guarantee you won’t be leaving empty-handed!
