Conservatory chic with a clear conscience…


It may be down to the fact that we currently don’t have a TV in the house, but we’re spending more and more time lounging in our garden room. I like to think it’s because we’re embracing summer. Whatever the reason, one thing’s for sure – our garden room décor needs an update.

So I’m setting about creating a wish-list. Top of that list is the Jepara chair (£625) from The Fair Trade Furniture Company. Made from banana fibre woven onto a sturdy wooden frame, and topped with squishy feather-filled cushions, the perch is simply perfect for a spot of afternoon reading.

In my mind’s eye I see two of these chairs huddled together – whether in white or sandstone still remains to be decided – with the matching footstool and side-table thrown in for good measure. Now I just need to convince my bank manager…
