Fancy owning a little piece of movie history? The Californian party house featured in cult 1990s film Clueless is on sale for £511,000

Maybe it was their too-cool-for-school clothes or the giant 'cutting edge' mobile phones, but Clueless earned itself a special place in our hearts (along with Back to the Future) back in the day... if only we could afford to up sticks and live in the party house itself...

The party house featured in the 1995 film Clueless has gone on sale for a cool £511,000.

The Californian property, located in Grenada Hills (that’s the Valley to you and me) features five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool, basketball court and huge garden.

The ranch-style property was where Travis failed at stage-diving, Tai was knocked
out by a shoe and Murray shaved his head. Can you believe it was almost 20 years ago!

Listed on The Kate Christiansen Group
property website as ‘an amazing home’ with ‘beautiful curb appeal’, the house is part of chick-flick history.

The traditional decor includes a huge wood kitchen with granite worktops, a massive living room complete with working fireplace, and, according to the listing, ‘one of the largest plots in the entire community’.

The hit movie Clueless, which was filmed at the house and at different locations around Beverly Hills, was directed by Amy Heckering and instantly became a box office smash when it was released in 1995.

The film’s plot is loosely based on Jane Austin’s novel Emma and sees Cher, played by Alicia Silverstone, befriend a young woman, Tai (played by the late Brittany Murphy).

During the course of their friendship Cher tries to do plenty of matchmaking on her behalf before eventually falling in love herself.

Originally built in 1963, the house last sold in 1989 and, here at Housetohome, we feel it’s in need of a little bit of updating – although we do agree it’s definitely a party house!
