Grey is here to stay!
Pinterest has revealed its Colours of Year 2016.
Hot the heels of the Pantone Colour of the Year (actually two colours, Rose Quartz and Serenity) and Dulux’s choice of Cherished Gold, the team at Pinterest have revealed the top hues to look out for in 2016.
Looking at the top performing pins in three categories – home, fashion and hair – it looks like grey is here to stay, hurrah!
Here’s everything you need to know…
Grey reigns supreme
The top interior colour was of course, trusty grey. The warm neutral suits any home, big or small, old or new, whilst looking chic and classical. Hooray for grey!
Move over for mauve
Mauve got a mention too. The romantic shade looks beautiful in the bedroom and adds a feminine feel to everything it touches.
Minty fresh shades win with the girls
Super summery and very fresh, mint green was a joint winner for women’s fashion. From handbags to dresses and even shoes, the message is clear – go green.
Dusky pinks are a fashion must
Equally feminine and perfect for spring – blush pink. Flowey blouses and elegant bridesmaid dresses are all adopting this plush shade.
It’s blue for the boys
Astronaut blue was a clear winner for men. Sartorial dressers are now opting for dark blue as an alternative to black but equally as suave.
Forest green fronts the fav hair colours
Hair fanatics head to Pinterest for colour inspiration and it seems dark green won across the board.
Blue bobs are a back
Another winner for dark blue – thanks to the wealth of celebrities and bloggers rocking the navy shade, midnight locks came out on top.
Lavender locks look lovely for spring
Inspired by the fresh and fragrant flower, lavender locks are on a tandem with blue and green and is set to be big throughout 2016.
