Prepare to be wowed by this amazing kitchen makeover

This stunning makeover has totally transformed the kitchen space in this converted barn

The owners of this four-bedroomed converted barn in Kent wanted to double the size of their narrow kitchen to allow more space for entertaining. After adding an extension with bi-fold doors they set to work to design a practical and functional kitchen.

The owners chose a bold colour scheme of
black, white and green. With the sun streaming through the windows the dark black units are illuminated. Although black can seem like a harsh colour for a kitchen, this room proves how stunning it can look. It can be easily warmed up with rustic wood and adds a contemporary feel to almost any scheme.

The huge kitchen island is just over 5m long and is the perfect place
for preparing food. It features a breakfast bar, two hobs and a prep
sink. The owners designed the layout themselves. The space includes two
sinks, several ovens, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer.

The black units work well with the zesty lime from the glass splashback. The vibrant colour links us with the garden outside, bringing the outdoors in. The new kitchen extension is a great mix of old meets new, with the oak beams and rustic wood flooring adding warmth, while the modern black units and stainless steel appliances add a modern edge.

The ikea units were topped with a quartz worktop to give a luxurious feel, while the stainless steel appliances add a contemporary look and tie the scheme together.

Contemporary bar stools and a few pretty accessories adds a homely touch to the space.

In total the kitchen transformation took nearly five months to complete, but the results are stunning, the kitchen has doubled in size thanks to the impressive extension.
