We’re not sure why Hollywood funnyman Steve Martin is offloading his stunning St Barts villa, but we’d sure like to get our hands on it

Fancy a bit of privacy and escape from your fast-paced life? Comedian Steve Martin has just the place and he only wants a few quid for it…

Petite, remote, stunningly beautiful… No, not a Hollywood starlet,
but the island much of Hollywood has fallen in love with.

St Barts has
attracted a constellation of A-listers keen to escape the pressures of
LA, not least the star of Roxanne and The Man With Two Brains, Steve Martin, who has owned a villa on the island since 2008.

But
now the man with two pools is selling up, offering a chance to own a
slice of paradise.

If you have £6.64 million spare, Villa Au Soleil could be yours.

With four bedrooms, a huge living area and several terraces overlooking a
two-tiered infinity pool, there’s plenty of space to bring along family
and friends, and lots of potential to rent it out between times (we
hear Jay Z and Beyoncé like to hang out in the area – just saying).

The decor leans towards an American/Carribean mix, with tiled floors, white-painted exposed rafters and chunky dark-wood furniture. The walls are painted lemon – the perfect complement to a G&T – and the views are all the artwork you need.

The outdoor shower isn’t just for pets, either – the weather ranges between 28˚C and 30˚C all year round, so this is a place for outdoor living.

But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing else to do: plenty of shops and restaurants are tucked on to the six-mile wide island. And it’s a great place to work on your scripts, we hear.

Steve Martin has said he’ll be sad to leave St Barts, but five years on from his purchase, the comedian is expected to sell for £6.64 million. Who’s laughing now?

Villa Au Soleil is on the market for $10.75m (£6.64 million) through St Barth Properties Sotheby’s International Realty (+590 (0)590 29 75 05).
