  • A new range from runner specialist Roger Oates reworks trad tartans into a surefire way to liven up a hallway

We love doing a bit of a runner here at Livingetc, especially when it brings a pop of colour into our lives.

Roger Oates, established purveyor of wool runners, has taken its cue from the Highlands and Islands for its latest collection, Stirling.

Trad Scottish-style tartans are given a new lease of life in warm reds, heathery purples and fresh greens.

We’re loving them contrasted against dark boards – perfect for a small hallway that needs brightening up, or a larger contemporary entrance that needs a homely but on-trend touch.

Made from Ventian wool, they cost £120 per m.

Tartan’s been a strong look for a good few centuries, so we predict these designs will run and run…
