Bunk Beds - Our Pick of the Best

Shopping for bunk beds? From basic space-saving frames to Scandi-chic modern classics, there's something here for everyone…

The bunk bed is the classic bedroom space-saver. It's the furniture of choice for a small shared bedroom, or for a single child's room with extra capacity for sleepovers. Always consider storage options when buying. Can you buy truckle units that slide underneath the lower bunk (some can house another mattress); are there matching units incorporating shelves, drawers or desks? Be aware that you will need to factor in the extra cost of mattresses as they tend not to be included. Check whether the bed is made to accommodate UK or continental mattress sizes as they are different. Bunk beds are generally designed for six to 12 year olds, but be aware of manufacturers' guidelines regarding age restrictions on the top bunk.
