Currys has slashed £100 off Shark’s brand new vacuum cleaner — but you’ll have to be quick as the deal ends soon
This Currys exclusive Shark vacuum with reverse clean technology is now only £249.99
It’s no secret that Shark really knows how to make a vacuum cleaner. The iconic floorcare brand is constantly updating its technology and upgrading its designs to suit all cleaning conundrums, and it’s fair to say that they’re all reasonably priced too.
However, there’s now a new model vying to compete with the best Shark vacuum cleaners, the new Shark Detect Lift-Away XL Anti Hair Wrap Plus Pet Expert LA790UKT Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner, and from the 9th to the 23rd September only, Currys has exclusively slashed the price from £349.99 down to just £249.99. This makes it one of the most affordable Shark vacuums on the market right now.
Perfect for homes with pets or those with busy households, this new model offers powerful corded cleaning and Shark’s patented Reverse Clean Technology, which makes every pass - both on the forward stroke and reverse stroke - more effective than ever. But this deal can only be found at Currys… and it won’t last long. So be sure to snap it up before it’s back up to full price.
In my opinion, upright corded vacuum cleaners don’t get the credit they’re due. While they may be considered older in the stick vs upright vacuum cleaner debate, they’re extremely powerful and easy to maintain - just like the Shark Detect Lift-Away XL.
Offering a very generous 2.5 litre dust canister capacity, the Shark Detect Lift-Away XL also has an 8m long cord and an operating radius of 10.1m - which would actually be long enough to vacuum both the living room and dining room in my house without having to unplug.
So, I can confidently say that it's one of the more manoeuvrable corded vacuums out there - especially when you consider that its corded nature also means it’ll offer impressive suction power for life’s everyday messes and bigger spills.
And although many upright vacuums struggle with pickup on the backstroke, Shark’s patented Reverse Clean and DirectDetect Technology allow you to vacuum backwards and forwards without impacting the overall efficiency of the machine. In fact, it’s this technology that made us fall in love with the Shark PowerDetect Clean & Empty Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner IP3251UKT, which is currently the number one Shark vacuum we’ve tested at Ideal Home.
But it’s the pet-friendly features that really set the Shark Detect Lift-Away XL apart from the rest and puts it in consideration to be one of the best vacuums for pet hair. It offers Anti Hair Wrap Plus technology to stop both pet and human hair from getting stuck in the machine, and Anti-Odour Technology to neutralise any bad smells your furry friends may leave in their wake.
Of course, the elephant in the room is that upright models are always heavier than the average stick vacuum - and the Shark Detect Lift-Away XL does come in at 6.73 kg in its upright form.
However, the Lift-Away Technology means that it transforms into a portable cleaner that’ll help you clean the smaller nooks and crannies in your home - as well as your stairs, furniture and even the family car. You can even use the included Crevice, Multi-Surface, Pet Power Brush and Car Kit tools to make the process even easier.
With all of this in mind, I think that the RRP of £349.99 is already pretty competitive. But Currys slashing that price by an extra £100 so it’s £249.99? That’s an absolute steal in my opinion.
Just remember that this exclusive Currys deal is only available from the 9th to the 23rd September. After that, it'll go back up to full price.
