The cabinetry in this Colonial Kitchens design has been enhanced with period accents such as cornicing and pilasters. Chestnut-coloured composite quartz worktops and pretty cream floor tiles give a warm and welcoming feel.

Cream-painted kitchen

Chimney breast
A custom-built chimney breast was created by a local carpenter to surround the stylish Rangemaster cooker. It is beautifully crafted and boasts stunning carved corbels that add a feeling of authenticity to the traditional scheme.

Fruit and vegetable basket
An open shelf with a pull-out wicker basket below helps to break up the run of cabinetry. The woven wood echoes the warm cream shade of the Padova ceramic floor tiles, sourced from Topps Tiles.

Washer and dryer
The Bosch washing machine and dryer are concealed within this multi-purpose housekeepers cupboard. A Siemens fridge freezer is behind the doors at the other end of the unit.

Sink and tap
This farmhouse-style Belfast sink from Rangemaster looks great in the traditional scheme and is paired with a crook-style gold Perrin & Rowe tap with simple crosshead handles.

Dining area
A double-decked peninsula is great for concealing preparation mess from guests at the seating area. The wooden-topped table and chairs have been finished in Farrow & Balls House White.
