This kitchen by David Robinson is a mixture of beautiful burr elm and stunning etched glass panels. Two stunning iroko tables have also been made to match the units. The walnut veneer chairs came from Dwell. The black double oven is by Siemens.

Glass and elm kitchen

Chopping board
Chinese characters carved into these integrated chopping boards read chop chop. The worktop is solid iroko.

Dresser cabinet
The bow-fronted drawers along one wall of the kitchen are teamed with a dresser-style wall cabinet. Stained floorboards finish the look.

Etched glass detail
On the cabinetry doors, a landscape of etched glass by Anita Pate is complemented by the natural burr elm waves that surround it. In the evenings, the glass is backlit for a dramatic effect.

Goldfish tank
A centre cupboard has been designed to house a goldfish tank and features a Clarice Cliff-style teapot and two glasses to further deceive the eye. Above, the words Bene tibi, meaning good health, have been carved into the wood.

Drawer unit
The drawer unit houses an ingenious slide-out wine rack, making the most of the rooms storage space. Each bottle nestles snugly into a specially made concave rest, ensuring that they stay in place as the rack is being pulled out.

Knife block
Next to the oven, a drawer incorporates a built-in knife block as well as space for a roll of kitchen towel and other items that often clutter up worksurfaces.

Hot water tap
Positioned next to the main kitchen tap from Tapstore is a smart boiling water tap in satin chrome from Quooker.
