1970s time warp flat goes on sale with a 2016 price tag
Feeling guilty that your home hasn’t been updated in a while? This flat has just gone on the market and hasn’t been touched in 40 years!
The online property listing reads '...two double bedrooms maisonette is in need of some TLC' but that is an understatement unless of course 70s retro décor is your thing as it literally hasn't had its interior touched in 40 years and still contains all the hallmarks that made the ‘far out' era an exploration of vivid colour and heavy pattern.
As well as all the original 70s fixtures and fittings, upon entering you are greeted by a living room that is drowning in mustard yellow walls and vibrant floral curtains.
The floor plan consists of a spacious split-level property which also boasts a small kitchen with a nostalgic sliding door opening out onto a dining room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and private patio terrace.
However, even though this flat needs a complete transformation to bring it back into the 21st century the price tag is certainly already there. On the market for a hefty £620,000, this is most certainly down to the home's location, location, location. It's set on a tree lined street in one of London's more sought-after suburbs in South West London where back in the 70s the average home in Greater London cost just £15,000!
Riz Ali from Haart Estate Agents says the property represents an 'exciting opportunity' for the right buyer.
'We've had lots of requests for viewings so far and most people see the 1970s decor as distinctly charming.
'The house was decorated in the 1970s and the majority hasn't been touched since. It's a fascinating home.'

Take a look a the rest of the house. Would you agree?
The small, well-lived in kitchen still has its original sliding door units and patterned lino flooring typical of the 70s.
Dazzling orange and chevron carpet makes the dining room positively 'disco' while the practical serving hatch to the kitchen is rarely seen in today's more up-to-date kitchen diners.
Classic, fitted cream wardrobes, a rose carpet and floral wallpaper turns the master bedroom into romantic boudior.
The bathroom has managed to escape an avocado suite but the grimy green shade still manages to put in an appearance on the walls, and what about that flooring - it's corking gorgeous!
