Ikea launches its first gallery exhibition to celebrate 'the joy of storage' - and we have all the photos!

Calling all collector queens and organisation enthusiasts, here is your dream gallery exhibition, 'The Collection' from Ikea

Ikea has created the storage enthusiast's dream day out.

Do you have a museum of miniature figurines, a treasure trove of ancient trinkets or a library of first editions that are dear to your heart?

If you are unsure how to correctly store these items to ensure lifelong hair shine on your china dolls or eternal sparkle in your spoons then Ikea will show you the way with its new - and very first - gallery exhibition, The Collection.

Ikea is hosting the London-based exhibition in a bid to show us how to revamp our storage systems this year.

Celebrating the ‘joy of storage' combined with its iconic functionality, this is every organised neat freak's dream exhibition.

Examples at the event include ways to store vintage fashion items, rare magazine collections, valuable toy soldiers and even Spice Girl merchandise. These storage methods may even be adapted and brought into the home to store clothes, shoes and umbrellas if you aren't a collectable queen yourself.

A series of room sets showcasing various storage methods have been designed by a member of Ikea's team and stand alongside a host of other Ikea furniture to complete the perfect look.

Calling the act of storage a
'joy', Ikea intends to show how a passion for beautiful collectables and its storage systems all go hand-in-hand.

‘The Collection' is a free exhibition hosted at independent gallery space, ‘The Proud Activist' in Dalston.

It will be open from 21-23 January between 9am and 5pm.
