Ideal Home Verdict

Often, mopping is an afterthought for robot vacuum cleaners and mops, with the vacuuming function always at the forefront. But that's not the case with the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25. Every single aspect of this hands-free cleaning appliance is powerful, from the 20,000Pa suction power to the HydroJet mopping system (and the dual clean and dirty water tanks). The app is also extremely easy to use, and the whole unit is a sleek addition to any home. In my eyes, it's well worth the investment.

I'm Lauren, Ideal Home's resident floorcare expert and Certified Expert in Vacuums. I tested the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 in my three-bedroom home, which has hard flooring and rugs downstairs and is fully carpeted upstairs. I used it every single day (and sometimes twice daily), testing out all of its vacuuming, mopping and app functionalities.

Eufy is no stranger to the robot vacuum world. The brand has been a leader in smart home technology and hands-free cleaning for years, and there are almost a dozen Eufy robot vacuums to choose from. But the brand's newest model is the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25, which is why I took it for a spin in my home to test its cleaning power.

My verdict? It really is one of the best robot vacuums out there - mainly because this vacuuming and mopping combo offers over four times the suction power of the average model on the market. What's more, I haven't had to touch my regular vacuum at all during the testing process. So, this is everything you need to know.

In a nutshell

The average robot vacuum cleaner has a suction power of between 2,000 - 6,000 pascals (Pa). The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25? Well, this one has a suction power of 20,000Pa, making it one of the most powerful robot vacuum cleaners on the market today. And, after testing, I can vouch for the fact that this model will deep clean your floors like no other.

The whole unit - from the robot vacuum itself to the auto-emptying, auto-refilling docking station - is also sleek and sophisticated, and offers clean and dirty water tanks to ensure you’re only cleaning your floors with fresh, dirt-free water. In fact, I can’t fault the cleaning power at all, and the mopping function is just as impressive as the vacuum function (a rarity for robot vacuums and mops).

If I were to nitpick, the charging cable for the docking station is a little short (limiting where you’ll be able to keep it), and the fact that you’ll have to buy replacement bags is an extra cost you need to consider. However, that’s a small price to pay for a 3L dust capacity which could hold up to 75 days’ worth of dirt, offering the ultimate hands-free experience.

All in all, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 isn’t a cheap robot vacuum cleaner, but after cleaning my home with it every day (and sometimes even twice a day), I truly believe that you get what you pay for. In this case, it’s a high-quality, high-powered robot vacuum cleaner and mop that does exactly what you need it to do.

Unboxing, setting up and first impressions

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 came in a very hefty box, but that was to be expected, considering the entire unit (base and robot vacuum itself) weighs 16.6kg. However, there were carry handles on the box itself, so I could move it into my house with a bit of muscle and willpower. Just be wary that you may need help if you struggle with your mobility.

Upon opening the box, I was greeted with a rather large set of diagram instructions, which I appreciated - and which is how I knew to open up the cardboard box with the robot vacuum, charger, and cleaning solution first, before removing the base.

All of these smaller components were wrapped in a plastic that can sometimes be recycled, depending on your local authority. Sadly, mine doesn’t allow it, so I had to throw it all in my normal waste bin, which was a shame considering the rest of the cardboard packaging could be recycled.

Nevertheless, I continued to lay everything out on the floor and was instantly impressed by how high-quality it felt. Sure, it’s heavy, but I don’t mind heavy when something feels robust and built to last - and that’s exactly how the E25 feels. The base and the robot mop are also incredibly sleek and offer a curved design, while most other robot vacuum bases offer harsh angles and straight lines.

Next, I removed the clean water tank, slotted the cleaning solution in behind it (a nice touch, as most robot vacuum cleaners and mops don’t offer a cleaning solution), and then filled the clean water tank with water before placing it back in its home. Then, I simply placed the robot vacuum on the docking station to complete the whole look. My initial thoughts? I loved it.

In fact, my only criticism during this stage was that the charging cable was quite short - and shorter than any other robot vacuum I’ve tested so far - which means you need to place it as near to a plug socket as you can.

With all of the physical components assembled, I then needed to set up the Eufy E25 on the app. And as I already use Eufy security cameras both inside and outside my house, I had the app already downloaded and could simply add this extra product into the mix. If you are new to Eufy, however, you simply need to download the app from your App Store.

Then, the robot vacuum and mop took itself off on a little adventure around my house to create a map that could be used for future cleaning. This took around 5 minutes, and the end result was an incredible 3D map that even managed to use its AI functionality to pick up where the wires were hiding under my sofa. Plus, it was able to detect the changes in flooring - from hard flooring and rugs in my dining room and living room to the tiled floor in my kitchen.

I then repeated the process upstairs to create two separate maps for upstairs and downstairs. It’s worth noting that if you have multiple levels or split-levels, you can do this up to five times and create five different maps.

Ease of use

As is the case with all robot vacuums, the Eufy E25 relies on an app - and while I’d say that the Eufy app is perhaps a little more complicated than other apps I’ve used in the past, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it’s what makes the robot vacuum and mop incredibly customisable. Of course, like any app, it’ll take a little while to get used to, but I can’t really fault it.

On the app, you can easily swap between maps and choose your cleaning settings (whether that’s vacuum + mop or vacuum only), determine your cleaning intensity, water level and suction power, set cleaning schedules, and edit your maps.

You can even take a look back at your cleaning sessions, turn the AI functionalities on or off, and set a child lock if you have kids with small fingers that like to go where they shouldn’t. You can also set a ‘do not disturb’ mode, so the robot will be silent and won’t perform auto-return cleaning during predetermined hours.

One thing I really love, however, is the fact that there’s an ‘Accessory Services’ area of the app, where you can check out the remaining lifespan of everything from your side brushes to our sensors, debris tray, filter and more. From the app, you can even be transported straight to the accessory store to buy exactly what you need.

Performance

With 20,000Pa of suction power, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 is more powerful than 99% of other robot vacuum cleaners and mops on the market - and you can tell. And while most robot vacuums are powerful enough to vacuum debris from hard floors, it’s on carpets and rugs that this Eufy vacuum's power really shines.

In fact, the long-pile rug in my living room (which is a magnet for embedded dog hair, dust, and dirt) has never looked as clean as it does after a session with this Eufy robot vacuum. I also find cleaning my wool carpets extremely difficult due to the loop piles, but once again, the Eufy had no problems extracting even the deepest of embedded hairs.

The mopping power is also extraordinary, and I realised while testing this robot vacuum cleaner and mop that the type of mop really matters when it comes to these hands-free appliances. After all, most robot vacuum cleaners and mops use a flat mop head, but the Eufy E25 uses a rotating mop roller - and it’s way more effective.

When mopping, I could see that my floors were getting equally saturated (without getting too wet), and that the rotating mop roller, coupled with the cleaning solution, was extremely efficient. Plus, this particular model uses a HydroJet™ System that applies 1.5kg of downward pressure on the floors for a thorough and consistent clean.

During testing, I was also impressed with the robot vacuum's ability to both detect and avoid obstacles. The detection technology picked up when there were shoes on the floor, where cables were located, and it managed to make its way through the jungle of table and chair legs in my dining room with ease.

However, we take how we test at Ideal Home very seriously, which is why I wanted to put the Eufy E25 through more controlled tests to assess its obstacle avoidance and its debris pickup.

The first test was the obstacle avoidance test, where I placed a dumbbell in the path of the robot vacuum cleaner to see whether it would simply bump into it or adjust its route. If anything, I’d say that this particular model is overly cautious.

Instead of cleaning right up to the dumbbell like many other robot vacuums would do, this one stopped about 10-15cm in front of it and then swerved around it, giving it a very wide berth. And while I do commend its ability to avoid an obstacle, I did often feel as though it missed a bit of cleaning space while avoiding things - and it could have got a lot closer.

The next test was the debris test, where I threw crushed cereal, rice, flour and my dog’s hair on my hard flooring and my carpets to see how it would cope with different sizes of debris. Thanks to the impressive suction power, it didn’t have any major problems - and unlike some robot vacuums, which simply push the flour and the rice around, the Eufy E25 picked the smaller debris up in one pass.

In fact, I’d say that it struggled most with my dog’s hair, which I will admit was in quite big chunks. And to begin with, it did push it around a little bit - especially when caught by the rotating side brushes - before eventually picking it up. All in all, though, it had no problem with hair strands embedded in carpets and rugs, and it was only the larger chunks it struggled with. So, keep that in mind if you have particularly shed-prone, thick-haired pets.

I then moved on to the third test, which assesses the mopping ability. To do this, I squirted some tomato sauce on the floor for the robot vacuum to clean in mop mode. As this ingredient is notoriously thick and sticky, some models struggle with it. And in one pass, the specific area it mopped was clean and completely residue-free. By the time the robot vacuum cleaner had cleaned the entire room, you wouldn’t have thought there was once tomato ketchup on the floor at all.

Alongside this, I couldn’t find any complaints with the edge-cleaning (the CornerRover arm makes this a doddle) or the mapping process. And I felt like the robot vacuum cleaner and mop was just getting smarter and smarter the more I tested it. It seemed to learn more about my home, the obstacles that are typically in the way, and which routes suited it best.

The best bit? It’s also one of the quietest robot vacuum cleaners I’ve ever tested (my decibel meter found that it was generally between 53dB - 62dB while cleaning, which is ideal if you want to run it overnight). The auto-empty system is significantly louder, but this is over and done with in just a few seconds.

Cleaning and maintenance

One of the things that makes the Eufy E25 a worthy investment, in my opinion, is the fact that there’s very little maintenance required. Sure, there’s a roller to be washed and dried, and there’s a dust bin to be emptied, but this requires very little input on your part.

After each cleaning session, the robot vacuum mop takes itself back to its dock, immediately empties itself into the 3L dust bag (which should have space for up to 75 days’ worth of debris) and starts cleaning and drying its roller.

To be more precise, the roller is cleaned with clean water before being dried by 35-50°C heated air for around five hours to prevent bad odours that often stick around with other robot vacuum mops. Plus, this makes it super hygienic, as a dry roller mop is less likely to harbour bacteria that will make your floors dirtier when you clean them again.

The only thing I had to do during testing was empty the dirty water tank after each use, which is just a case of pulling the tank off the docking station, pouring the brown water down the drain, giving it a rinse (or a soapy clean, if it looks particularly dirty), and then popping it back.

Of course, the elephant in the room is that this is a bagged robot vacuum mop that uses a specific cleaning solution, which means you will need to eventually buy replacement bags and cleaner. You can buy a pack of three bags from the Eufy website or from Amazon for £15.99, and the ready-to-use cleaning solution will set you back £19.99 from Eufy or Amazon.

The bags are undoubtedly non-negotiable and a must-purchase if you do buy this Eufy robot vacuum cleaner and mop, so this is something to consider before you bite the bullet. It’s worth noting that you don’t technically have to use the cleaning solution if you don’t want to, though, so you could save money there.

However, Eufy advises against using a DIY cleaning solution in the machine, as this will void your warranty and may damage the appliance. And as I was really impressed with the cleaning solution, this is something I will be using without fail in the future, as the clean it offered was way better than water alone.

How does it rate online?

As the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 is one of the newest models on the market, there are currently only 24 reviews of the product on the Eufy website at the time of writing. Overall, it has a star rating of 4.12 out of 5.

One happy customer even went as far as to call it the ‘best robot vacuum cleaner on the market,’ and others have praised it for its impeccable cleaning ability, how quiet it is when running, and how easy the app is to use. They also love the mopping function and find it to be extremely effective.

However, three people have only given the E25 a one-star review, with one customer complaining about the appliance leaving water droplets everywhere and with another stating that it didn’t clean every inch of their home - especially the edges. I didn't find any of that to be an issue while I was testing.

Overall, though, the reviews are extremely positive, with the 5-star reviewers calling it one of the most powerful and most impressive models on the market today.

How does it compare to similar models?

There are so many different Eufy robot vacuum cleaner models out there, and as I haven’t tested all of them, I can’t personally compare them. But while the E25 is on the more expensive end of the spectrum, it’s also one of the newest models, which means outdated tech from older models will have been perfected for this model to go to market.

In terms of models I have tested so far, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 is undoubtedly one of the best so far. In terms of usability, it reminds me of the Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch Robot Vacuum and Mop, which offers quick and simple app controls and the self-empty, auto-refilling functions.

But where the Eufy takes the cake is with its multi-mapping option, which Shark doesn’t have. This means that you can create and save maps for different rooms, floors, and levels of your house, allowing for better integration within your whole-home cleaning routine. I’d say that the suction power of the Eufy is also miles above the Shark model.

Of course, you’ll need to pay a few extra hundred pounds for the pleasure, but I do think the Eufy model is the far superior one and one that’s worthy of that extra cost.

It’s also significantly more tech-focused than the Hoover HG2 robot vacuum cleaner and mop, which doesn’t offer the same level of suction power (in fact, it only has 5,000Pa of suction power) or has the mapping or obstacle-avoidance as the Eufy E25.

However, the Hoover model is significantly cheaper at just £269, so it may be a better entry-level choice for those who aren’t convinced they need a robot vacuum cleaner in their lives.

Verdict: Should you buy the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25?

If you’re looking for a deep-cleaning robot vacuum cleaner and mop that will also look good in your house, I really do think the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 will fit the bill. This model has left my floors cleaner than any other robot vacuum cleaner I’ve tested so far, and the mopping function is far superior to others on the market.

Because of this, I do think the Eufy E25 would benefit those who have a lot of hard flooring in their home, as the mopping function deserves to be used on a daily basis instead of being seen as an afterthought. However, the 20,000Pa of suction power is also ideal for rugs and carpets, so I see this model working in a home with a mixture of both hard flooring and soft.

Just be wary that the cable is a little shorter than average, so you’ll need to find it a home close to a plug socket. You’ll also need to buy replacement bags (and potentially replacement cleaner), and it’s a large upfront investment. But after testing, I really do believe it’s worth every penny.
