Are these the most epic garages in the world? Step inside the ‘motor man cave’

These designer garages are making us green with envy

Forget a loft extension or basement conversion, have you heard about the new spare-room-on-the-block, the designer garage?

No longer just a dumping ground for your old banger (and broken bbq, empty tins of paint, basically everything you keep meaning to take to the tip), yes, garages just got swanky.

These epic designs are courtesy of Dominic Wishlade at Dura Garages - the mastermind behind the ‘motor man cave'.

While a designer garage has all the space in the world for posh motors (Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin - you get the gist), there is more to these rooms than just four-wheel storage - think gym equipment, bar stools, wall-mounted TVs and much, much more.

Basically, the man cave to end all man caves (but not quite as glam as the ‘she shed').

The garages created by Dura range from the basic to the very extreme, as owner Dominic explains: "Some people want a garage dedicated to their dream car, so we might paint the cabinets in Ferrari red and put motoring memorabilia around the wall.

"Others with larger garages ask us to theme the car part but turn the rest into a games room with a billiard table, big-screen TV, and burgundy Chesterfields.

"That might involve home gyms - total privacy and no queuing for equipment - or even a designer cocktail bar where they can entertain their friends on a girls' night in."

So, what would you have in yours? A cocktail bar, games table, yoga studio? The options are endless, as these swanky designs prove...
