Take a tour around a tranquil south London home

A calm colour palette make this room the perfect place to chill out in.

A calm colour palette make this room the perfect place to chill out in. The bright chartreuse Jacquard sofa offers a pop of vibrant colour as well as a comfy place to lounge. The soft grey walls and painted floorboards provide a neutral canvas.

Try Farrow & Ball (opens in new tab) for a great range of grey paint. The Claude sofa is by Pinch (opens in new tab) for Liberty (opens in new tab) with Kenzo fabric, stocked at Furniture Divas (opens in new tab).

One of the owners is a furniture designer and instead of a busy, chaotic study, a quiet thinking space with a comfy armchair is more apt. Continuing the tranquil grey palette with pops of colour is a theme in this room too, and the floating shelves add to the calming, open vibe.

Find Patrick Caulfield prints at Dominic Geurrini (opens in new tab). Try Luna-online (opens in new tab) for second-hand armchairs like this one. IKEA (opens in new tab) have a good range of floating shelves.

The whole home is a live-work space, but instead of having a separate home office the owner has used part of the hallway to house a desk. A comforting warm glow from a floor light floods the area and reflects off the soft grey walls.

Try The Little Greene Paint Company (opens in new tab) for floorboard paint.

Continuing the peaceful vibe, even the bathroom gets the grey-with-a-hint-of-colour treatment. The blocked-in bath and shower complements the blocky, rectangular sink, but the corners are softened with vintage accessories, such as the basin and jug. To add to the calm, the owners can soak in the bath while gazing through the window at their weeping willow tree.

Aston Mathews (opens in new tab) sell a range of rectangular basins. Visit Appley Hoare Antiques (opens in new tab) for vintage bathroom accessories.

Thanks to concealed built-in storage, clothing, shoes and accessories are hidden away. The rest of the furniture in the bedroom is kept simple and understated, like the bedside table and lamp.

The throw is by Muskett & Mazzullo (opens in new tab). Find a similar bedside lamp at Pinch (opens in new tab).

The soft greys and natural wood furnishings are carried throughout the house to the bedroom. The throw adds tactile texture and the sheer curtains soften the effect of the floorboards. Just like the rest of the house, beautifully crafted, simple wooden furniture accessorises the room along with a dark chartreuse chair and retro-print cushion.

SCP (opens in new tab) have similar chairs. Retrouvius (opens in new tab) are great for retro furniture.
