Fall from grace: first repossession at One Hyde Park - the UK's most expensive block of flats

Receivers have allegedly arranged for the quick sale of a one-bedroom flat in London's most exclusive high-rise residence

It may be one of London's most exclusive addresses - and the most expensive block of flats in Britain, but One Hyde Park in Knightsbridge has had its first repossession.

The property in question is a one-bedroom flat worth £5.25 million, that was thought to have been previously owned by a property developer.

Designed by property duo Candy & Candy and completed in 2011, One Hyde Park made headlines for the sale of a £140 million penthouse on the top floor, now owned by the development's financial backer, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The imposing building has a concierge and valet service. Residents also enjoy room service via a tunnel from the five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel next door, a TV chef, a panic room and even SAS-trained bodyguards keeping the place secure! Wow - imagine the annual service charge...
