    Step 1: To make the dough mix 2 cups of flour with 1 cup of salt and 1 cup of water by hand or with a Kitchen Aid.

    Step 2: Wrap the made dough in clingfilm and rest of 40 mins.

    Step 3: Dust flour on to a sheet of greaseproof paper.

    Step 4: Roll out your dough to an approx thickness 1-2cm and with a cookie cutter cut out an oval shape to fit your chosen jar.

    Step 5: Using an alphabet stamp set ink and letterpress onto your cut out dough the word for the contents your jar will contain. For example: ‘tea’ ‘coffee’ or ‘sugar’.

    Step 6: Roll a pinwheel around the edge of the oval to make a decorative pattern.

    Step 7: Use a straw to punch a hole on either side of the salt dough label.

    Step 8: Lift the label and shape it around a heatproof jar, then remove the lid

    Step 9: Repeat steps 4-8 to make further labels if necessary.

    Step 10: Place jar with label shaped on top onto an oven dish and bake in the oven at 110c for 4-5 hours until completely dry.

    Step 11: Remove label with oven gloves and allow to cool. Add a chain to the label in the punched holes using pliers to open the links. Then close tight.

    Step 12: Place the label and chain over your glass storage jars, fill with relevant content and close the lid.
