This home has a classic look that's irresistably elegant, but it's the owners love of all things glittering that's made it extra special.

Not many of the original wood features have been left unpainted. The neutral walls are echoed throughout the house.

The paint is from Farrow & Ball.

The owners painted the fire surround cream to ensure the living room had the sophisticated look they were after. The satin cushions add a feminine touch.

The sofa is from John Lewis, and the wall paint is from Farrow & Ball.

The back door is painted dove grey, which gives the room a hint of elegant French-country style, as does the corner shelving filled with sparkling glassware and old-fashioned jelly moulds that are family heirlooms.

The chairs, seat cushions and cake stand are all from IKEA.

5/9 Christmas dining room

In the dining room, the festive glamour comes from the sparkling glass collection and the striking chairs the owners found at an antiques shop.

The candlesticks, tealight holders, runner, napkins and decorations are all from The White Company.

6/9 Guest bedroom

Dark accents are added to the cream guest bedroom. Bedroom furniture has been given a fresh lease of life with a lick of neutral paint to match the walls.

The wall paint is from Leyland, and the bed is from The White Company.

Make your workspace calm with layers of plain neutrals lifted with shots of silver. This simple desk has timeless appeal, while the pictures on the wall add a personal touch.

The desk, cabinets, chair and frames are all from IKEA.
