Modern style meets traditional design in this eclectic living room. The neutral palette emphasises influences from the art deco period, such as the artwork and vase. Texture is an important part of the scheme, adding warmth and interest.
Kitchen
The kitchen was designed by Ben himself, and was based on the idea of black and white stripes. Having the dining table next to the L-shaped kitchen allows for a sociable cooking and entertaining space.

Dining room
Continuing the theme from the kitchen into the adjoining dining room, but with added shots of hot red, the sleek lines of the table and chairs create a light and modern space. Ceiling high glass doors lead onto the garden, making the most of the natural light.

Hallway
Bespoke storage shelves have been cleverly used to divide the hallway from the living room. A floor-to-ceiling mirror, running the length of the hallway, brings light to the space and gives it the appearance of being double the size.

Hallway stairs
In a scheme dictated by white and wood, this artwork becomes the central focus. The bamboo stair rail adds a rustic touch, while the lack of a banister accentuates the feeling of simplicity here.

Bedroom
Although small, the main bedroom has real impact. Animal prints, textured bedlinen, black wallpaper and matching gloss accessories combine to give the feeling of luxury.

Bathroom
The bathroom has five-star appeal, with slate tiles in varying sizes adding interest, and a wall and vanity unit in rich wood bringing warmth to the scheme. Splashes of red help to bring out the crimson shades in the other materials.

Decked modern garden
The Mediterranean garden is an easy-to-achieve oasis, featuring mirrors, whitewashed walls and planters filled with olive trees and aloe vera.
