A soothing palette of greys, taupes and neutrals creates a serene setting, which is brought to life with opulent, yet subtle touches, such as the patterned wallpaper in the alcove, a mirrored side table and a bevelled-edge mirror.

The homeowner wanted to ensure each room flowed into the next, so the dining room is also decorated in a neutral colour scheme. She couldn't find exactly the right dining chair, so she designed them herself and had them made up a local interior design company.

The paisley print wallpaper in white and grey gives the main bedroom a feminine, sophisticated look. The white-painted furniture and period fireplace maintain the pared-back colour palette used throughout the house.
