Rayburn and Aga launch new electric range cookers
Rayburn's first electric range cookers and Aga's new Masterchef XL combine old-school looks with hi-tech features
One of the status symbols of rural living - the Rayburn - has been given a modern makeover with the launch of its first electric versions.
There's no need to worry about flues or fuel storage - these beauties will slot in wherever there's a plug. And although they won't heat your hot water or power your central heating like a traditional Rayburn, they can still cosy up your kitchen via the unique Warmfront feature, which heats up the front of the oven at the flick of a switch.
The electric Rayburns are available in six colours - black, cream, pewter, green, dark blue and aqua, and with a choice of two ceramic or induction zones as opposed to hotplates. They've also got a powerful electric fan oven, a conventional oven and a grill. Prices start from £3,995 for the ceramic version.
Want even more cooking space and a more contemporary design? Then perhaps you'd prefer a new Masterchef XL from Rayburn's big sister Aga. There are two models available - a dual-fuel version with two A-rated, 69-litre multifunction electric ovens, a separate slow cooker and a six-burner gas hob, priced at £2,995, and an all-electric model with a five-zone induction hob, £3,395. Both come in five colours: Cream, Gloss Black, Cranberry, Pewter and Pearl Ashes.
