Located in a tree-lined street in west London, this Grade II listed property had been turned into 14 bedsits during the 1950s and needed a complete renovation. The interior designer owner wanted to create a ‘beautiful yet functional’ family home, where the spaces would flow together seamlessly. The house is a mix of elegant antiques and more modern and quirky pieces, which give it its individual charm.
Double doors between the dining room and study off the kitchen make this an ideal space for entertaining. Find a similar table and chairs at JVB.

Classic sofas and a restrained colour scheme create an oasis of calm. Lucite lamps by Talisman pick up light from the window, repeated in the lucite coffee table. Keep patterns to a few soft furnishings, like in this rug - find similar at Christopher Farr.
3/8 Kitchen
A new conservatory-style roof floods the kitchen with light, which ekes down through the glass floor into the children's playroom in the basement. Find units and granite worktops like these at Bulthaup.
4/8 Hallway
A neutral colour scheme in the entrance hall allows the restored encaustic floor tiles to sing out. The neutrals also complement the 1920s Parisian ceiling light. For similar floor tiles, try Original Features.
5/8 Basement
The basement is below the part of the kitchen that has a glass floor, which fills it with natural light by day. The room serves as the children's playroom and a media room, so there is plenty of storage space to keep it tidy. Find storage like this at IKEA.
6/8 Bedroom
This piece of wall art in the bedroom adds character without breaking the gentle mood of the cream and eggshell blue scheme. Find a bed like this at Simon Horn.

Cream limestone and walnut help to ensure that the bathroom is a relaxing sanctuary. Find limestone tiles like this at Limestone Gallery.
