While forming the main focal point for the kitchen, this sleek aubergine range cooker provides the inspiration for the room's colour scheme.  The owner chose aubergine as it reflected the tone of the farmhouse style house, and repeated the colour in the wallpaper and accessories.

For an range cooker like this one, head to Aga.

Without available walls to place sockets, a pop-up power supply from Evoline was installed to enable the use of small appliances at the island.  After use, the unit slides down to sit flush with the Fraser James limestone worktop, with only a chrome circle as a clue to its location.

tap dispensing hot and chilled filtered water eradicated the need to have the Aga lid up all the time.  The luxury of having near-boiling water on tap means there is no need to clutter the sleek and stylish worktops with a kettle.

For little luxuries like this head to Franke.

The Aga is central to the design of the kitchen, and provides warmth as well as a traditional element, which was key to the owners.  Made from solid maple, and hand-painted tulipwood, the island is completed by simple, classic pewter D-handles.

The design and cabinetry was all completed by Paul Matthews at Fraser James Bespoke Handmade Furniture.
