The kitchen is simple and symmetrical. The dining table came from a French 19th century monastery, while the old wooden cabinet used to house butterflies at the Natural History Museum. In one corner of the living room, a pair of horns brings the plain chimneybreast to life. Buy an antique leather carver chair at sellingantiques.co.uk. The horns plaque is from Alex MacArthur. The pendant light is from Retrouvius.

3/8 Hallway

Knocking down the walls has allowed light from the kitchen space to flood into the hallway. A job lot of copper etchings in frames, picked up for £50 at a local junk shop, lead your eye down the hall. The console table is from Retrouvius.

4/8 Bedroom

The curtains in the bedroom were made from natural linen from Whaleys. Although the house is packed with vintage items, modern touches, such as the skull print, give it edge. This is the Coco bed at The Sleep Room. Get the bed linen at Ikea.

5/8 Clothes storage

One coveted vintage find is this restored shop display cabinet, which is used as a wardrobe. It's from D&A Binder. The coat stand is an antique shop find, but Elemental has similar.

6/8 Guest bedroom

The guest bedroom houses another upholstered bed from The Sleep Room. The shutters fixed to the wall were sourced on salvoweb.com. The Grace at House Of Fraser is a good match for this chair. Get an Anglepoise lamp at The Design Museum Shop.

7/8 Bathroom

A glass-fronted china cabinet makes good storage for towels, while a Venetian mirror makes
a decorative focal point. Source a china cabinet at Clive Beardall. The antique mirror is from Martin D Johnson Antiques, but try the Crested Venetian at Mirrorman.
