Catwalk to Couch: If Cat Deeley can dress like Dennis the Menace and still look hot we're going to steal her look and deck our homes out in cheerful stripes
Each fortnight we show you how to bring the hottest catwalk trends into your own home - this week we're seeing stripes.
When we saw this photo of the lovely Cat Deeley we were immediately reminded of a popular cartoon character (you know the one).
Stripes are always guaranteed to draw attention and we think Ms Deeley looks
fantastic. So much so, that we are going to channel her stripey style for
this weeks Catwalk to Couch to show you how to get the look in your own
home.
1 If you're going to plump for stripes, the bolder the better we say. Throw this little number into a simple living room scheme and it'll create a wow-worthy focal point. (p.s. When we say throw, we obviously don't mean it literally, that would be silly. Carefully arrange it.) Fresh bright stripe rug, from £89, John Lewis.
2 If you're not afraid of an optical illusion take a look at this stripey cuckoo clock. It does funny things to our eyes, but we like it. It also reminds us a little bit of the old BBC test card. Mesmerising. Diamantini & Domeniconi Arcoiris Cuckoo clock, £218, Nest.co.uk.
3 Doorstops aren't the most exciting of home accessories, we agree. But if you want to combine function and style (and we can't think why you wouldn't) this stripey doorstep is just the ticket for keeping pesky doors from slamming shut. Beach stripe lavender filled doorstop, £29.99, Celia Lindsell.
4 You can even bring a dash of Cat Deeley's style to your morning breakfast table. These espresso cups are perfect for testing the old adage that vertical stripes are slimming whilst horizontal stripes add width. They all look the same to us. Or do they...? Stripes coffee cups and saucers, £35 for a set of 4, John Lewis.
