The current owners David and Lizanne Southworth have spent the last 11 years renovating Skipwith Station near Selby, North Yorkshire.
The couple is now looking for new owners to take over the holiday business as well as the home.
The property, which is being sold through Savills, was a working station on the Derwent Valley Light Railway until the service closed in 1985.
Situated on the edge of Skipwith Common the property is ideally located for access to the City of York as well as the wider tourist attractions found across Yorkshire.
The unique and quirky home includes a four-bedroom family home, which incorporates the original ticket office and waiting room.
The original seats were stripped out while new insulation, wiring, plumbing and heating were installed. Some features, like the luggage racks, were retained to offer additional storage and keep the character of the property intact.
Although the railway tracks are long gone, this fantastic property is set on 1.4 acres of land and comes with paddocks and grassland.
Rental rates for the holiday lets have ranged between £370 and £900 per week on a self-catering basis. It could provide the lucky new owner with a rather lucrative income!
But for those who prefer their privacy, the main home also has access to its own driveway.
Are you a railway enthusiast seeking self catering accommodation with a difference? Then this home could be just the ticket!
