Ikea launches 30 new pieces in a designer collection
Ilse Crawford has designed a furniture collection for Ikea that celebrates raw materials - dried seagrass, bamboo, glass and cork.
A little something for your Pinterest boards, perhaps? A very exciting collection is landing from Ikea.
If you're looking for top-of-the-line designs but at low Ikea prices, then this is the collection for you. The popular company has teamed up with top London designer Ilse Crawford to bring you its Sinnerleg collection, which includes 30 low-key pieces for the home, arranged into three groups - lounging, dining and working...
The look is minimalistic and celebrates raw materials, including bamboo, dried seagrass and glass. Look out for cork, too - this is the predominant, super-sustainable material and has been used in thin layers to cover table tops, seats and glass jars.
The natural materials and neutral colour palette will suit any home. The emphasis is put on material combinations rather than statement shapes. 'We see this collection as background – it's not trying to compete with fantastic icons of design,' says Crawford.
You'll find large furniture pieces, including tables, coffee tables and a daybed, as well as beautiful accessories, such as hand-blown glass bottles and lighting.
The range will be available at Ikea stores and online from August. Our favourite pick? These stunning, bamboo lattice lampshades...
