Want to add glamour and sophistication to your home? For a look that oozes opulence and refinement, take inspiration from the beautiful interiors of Britain's glorious country houses. With luxury and tradition making a comeback this year, this is a style that's not only elegant but also bang on trend.
Inspired by Britain's grandest country estates, Sainsbury's new Manor House collection is perfect to inject stately chic into your home. 'Manor House mixes patterns such as antique florals and damasks to give a faded glamour,' explains Rona Olds, Head of Buying for Home at Sainsbury's.
Use a refined colour palette as the thread that links the different elements across a room - Rona suggests pairing deep shades such as royal purple or rich aubergine with elegant greys and understated taupe. To create a country-house atmosphere in your bedroom, for example, she recommends layering cushions in luxurious violet shades over floral cotton-sateen bed linen in the same hues.
Give your look an extra dimension by working in interesting textures, such as sumptuous velvets, lustrous glass and sleek metals. ‘The Manor House collection combines different materials together with gilt-edged frames and dark wood and has little added touches such as tassels on cushions,' Rona says.
Chic candle arrangements and big, bold floral displays are the perfect finishing touch to tie off the look.
