Six masterpiece murals for your home

Make a statement with The National Gallery

We were thrilled to discover that wallpaper specialist Andrew Martin has obtained the rights from The National Gallery to reproduce any painting in its permanent collection in wallpaper form. Achieving this jaw dropping effect is relatively simple. Just wander the gallery until something takes your fancy then note down the painting name and its unique inventory number (beginning with NG) and send Andrew Martin the dimensions of the wall you wish to cover. But do note any image without an NG code will be a loan item and not available for reproduction.

The wallcovering will come on a durable vinyl covering and the company can quote for and arrange installation. The wallcoverings are priced at £139/sq m Рmore than a bargain for a masterpiece.

Here are some examples of looks you might try…

Go with the current trend for tropical and invest in Henri Rousseau’s ‘Surprised!’ of 1891.

For a dynamic and masculine vibe try Peter Paul Reuben’s ‘A Lion Hunt’ of 1614.

Monet’s ‘Bathers at La Grenouill√®re’ of 1869 will add a watery tranquility to a room.

For more of a moody but sensual feel you could opt for ‘Leda and the Swan’ by Michelangelo of 1530.

Capture the feeling of an inner sanctum with Fra Angelico’s ‘The Virgin Mary with the Apostles and Other Saints’ of 1423.

Buy into the coastal trend with Monet’s ‘La Pointe de la Heve, Sainte-Adresse’ of 1864.
