    There’s nothing like a Christmas market to get you in the jolly spirit; wandering among little wooden chalets and meeting stallholders, surrounded by the smell of roasting chestnuts and the sound of carol singers is one of our top festive moments. We’ve shortlisted seven of our favourites, each well worth a visit.

    Christmas in the Country, West Sussex
    Held in Wisborough Green’s pretty village hall, this end of season fair is jam packed with beautifully decked stalls offering inspiring products from new British designers and makers including crafts, antiques, textiles and more. Discover wild willow wreath and decoration making workshops as well as a fun ‘rummage room’, filled with baskets, trunks and crates of gorgeous items under £5.
    December, 10am – 3pm, entry costs £2.

    The Selvedge Winter Fair, Somerset

    More than 30 makers will gather in Bath at The American Museum in Britain to offer a tempting selection of gifts and country-style inspiration including handmade textiles, kitchenware and tableware, decorative storage baskets, knitted felted fashion accessories and. Not to be missed!
    12th December, 12-5pm, museum entry fees only.

    Christmas at Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire
    Over 50 hand-selected local artisans and producers will be on hand to offer festive fare as well as some of the nation’s best loved independent traders from across the country. The floodlit Waddesdon Manor makes for an enchanting backdrop to rows and rows of Scandi-style chalets – a beautiful sight to behold!

    St Nicholas Fair, York
    A visit to St Nicholas market is like stepping into a Dickens tale, with bustling Victorian market stalls selling everything from traditional gifts and crafts to delicious local produce. Mulled wine, brandy-laced hot chocolate and chestnuts roasting on street corners all add to the jolly ‘countdown’ feel.
    From now until 23 December, Mon-Weds 10am-6pm; Thurs 10am-8pm; Fri 10am-7pm; Sat 10am-8pm, Sun 10am-5pm, free entry.

    Bath Christmas Market, Somerset
    The area between the stunning Bath Abbey and the renowned Roman Baths is transformed into a Christmas shopping wonderland, perfect for finding unique gifts for those hard-to-please family members! Over 170 traditional wooden chalets line the streets, offering high-quality artisan products, as well as festive food and drink.
    From now until 14 December, Mon-Weds 10am-7pm; Thurs-Sat, 10am-8:30pm; Sun, 10am-6pm, free entry.

    RHS Garden Rosemoor Christmas Food Fair, Devon
    With its glossy evergreens, scented winter flowers and exciting holly trail, Rosemoor is a fantastic place to visit at Christmas, not to mention it’s seasonal food fair, too! Pick up festive cookery skills from expert demonstrations and stock up on everything needed to create the perfect Christmas dinner;
    stalls are laden with luxurious gastro goodies from cheese and meats to puddings and wine.
    6th December, 10am – 3pm, garden entry fees only.

    Weston Park Christmas Food
    & Craft Fair
    , Shropshire

    Explore the house, gardens and grounds at the stunning Weston Park Estate and pick up a few treats along the way; with over 80 stalls set up indoors and outdoors, there’s plenty to choose from! Choose from a selection of fresh produce to make up your own gift hamper, enjoy a delicious hog roast and watch your little ones ride the miniature railway – a fun day out for all the family.
