Take a tour around a timeless family kitchen
Pendant lights from Idea Bright add a classic edge to the homely design.
A mixture of hand-painted and solid oak cabinetry gives this kitchen an unfitted feel. The base and wall units are painted in Old White while the corner storage unit is painted in Brinjal and the walls are finished in Clunch, all by Farrow & Ball. Pendant lights from Idea Bright add a classic edge to the homely design.
1/9 Painted oak kitchen
2/9 Sink area
A deep ceramic farmhouse-style sink paired with an ornate deck-mounted tap by Hornbeam Ivy serves as the main wet area and is flanked by two dishwashers either side. Dark oak floorboards from United Flooring give a rustic feel.
3/9 Island unit
The granite on the island overhangs to form a breakfast bar at which sit Lloyd Loom stools painted in Marble by Farrow & Ball. Next to the island is an iroko-topped butchers block, which houses baskets used to store magazines.
4/9 Dishwasher
Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer pull-out dishwashers are a great alternative to traditional dishwashers for busy households, and can be completely integrated into a kitchen scheme.
5/9 Traditional handles
All the cabinetry handles are made from brushed nickel, which has a softer sheen than stainless steel. This cupboard is painted in Brinjal by Farrow & Ball.
6/9 Fridge drawers
A two-drawer fridge by Sub-Zero has been integrated into the design. It's handy for storing frequently used items, such as butter or milk.
7/9 Dining area
The round dining table has an MDF and tulipwood base with a lacquered European oak top. The base of the table and Lloyd Loom chairs have been painted in Brinjal by Farrow & Ball to match the large storage cupboard in the working area of the kitchen.

8/9 Housekeeper's cupboard
A roomy housekeepers cupboard, painted in Mouses Back by Farrow & Ball to match the nearby mantel, houses the familys china and cutlery and is located near the dining table. A built-under Sub-Zero wine cooler in the cabinetry opposite is also within easy reach at meal times.
9/9 Knife drawer
These knives have a dedicated drawer with a space for each. This prevents them moving around and becoming blunt.
