We headed to the swanky Savoy hotel in London to meet the lovely Lorraine Kelly, who has designed a homeware range for JD Williams. Launching on March 21, Lorraine at Home features two capsule collections – Coast to Glen and Coastal Mist – both of which are very close to Lorraine’s heart. The TV presenter – and now homeware designer – was keen to celebrate her own style and family home in Scotland in both her collections. The range includes a subtle nod to her Scottish roots with pale tartan checks (rather than ‘full on shortbread tin red’ – her words, not ours!) and fun animal prints, which include ducklings and Scotty dogs. Coast to Glen features a grey, plum and taupe colour palette and includes bronze lanterns and family photo frames. Coastal Mist is a modern interpretation of life by the sea – think blues, yellows and crisp whites, featuring glass lamps with rustic rope, cushions in sky blue and textured wool. With prices starting from £6, the products are affordable and available for all, which was important to Lorraine when designing the two collections. As she told us at the launch, ‘you can change an entire room with a cushion’. Watch our video interview above where Lorraine reveals the inspiration behind her collections and hear all about her ‘forever home’ in bonny Scotland.
